Joe Wheeler State Park located on the shores of Wheeler Lake is known for it's resort and recreation area. The 2,550 acre state park features waterfront resort lodge with restaurant, convention facilities, 18-hole golf course, clubhouse, and marina. Joe Wheeler State Park has lakeside campground, cottages and cabins. The park's campground features a total of 116 campsites. The 2.5 mile loop trail offers opportunity for hiking and biking. Other activities include paddle boat, kayaking, fishing, swimming and picnicking.
