Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park

Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park located in Prairie Grove commemorates the Battle of Prairie Grove fought on December 7, 1862. Confederate and Union forces clashed at the site resulted in 2,700 casualties during the American Civil War. The battle monument is the main attraction of the park. The state park features walking and driving tours, programs, and weekend events. Hindman Hall Museum of the park offers free admission and it includes artifacts recovered from the battle. A Civil War reenactment is held at the park during the first weekend in December every 2 years.
