Northeast of Dawsonville, Amicalola Falls State Park is located on top of the North Georgia Mountains. The park is known for 729 foot Amicalola Falls waterfall. It is the the highest waterfall in Georgia and 3rd highest east of the Mississippi River. The waterfall is a popular tourist attraction for its spectacular vistas. It is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Georgia. The park offers 8 miles trail to Amicalola Falls and to Springer Mountain. Park offers guest lodge, restaurant, cabins, and shelter.
