Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore includes 35 miles of Lake Michigan's eastern coastline. Located along the northwest coast of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, the lakeshore is known for miles of sand beach and lush forests. The park features North and South Manitou islands, forests, beaches, dune formations, and ancient glacial phenomena. The lakeshore also includes historic features such as 1871 South Manitou Island Lighthouse, former stations of the Coast Guard, and historic farm district.
