Abilene State Park

Located 16 miles southwest of Abilene, Abilene State Park features large shady trees on the banks of Elm Creek. Popular as favorite picnic area, there are many picnic sites under the oak, cedar, elm and pecan trees. The state park also has a swimming pool, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pit, and basketball goal. The swimming pool is open only in summer. Park recreation activities include swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, biking, camping, and bird watch.
