Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park

Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park, known as World Birding Center headquarters is popular for bird watching and butterfly watching. The state park has about 360 species of birds along with butterflies, javelinas, and bobcats. Vehicle traffic is banned and RV camping is not allowed in the park. Visitors can explore the park on foot, bike or take a tram tour. The tram runs Thursday through Sunday, every hour starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m.
