Caprock Canyons State Park and Trailway located southeast of Amarillo is the 3rd largest state park in Texas. The state park offers opportunity to see large shaggy native bison that roam the plains. Along with bison, park is known for bats in Clarity Tunnel. Things to do include hiking, biking, horse ride, camping, and scenic drive. The state park also features 120 acre Lake Theo with recreation swimming, fishing and no-wake boating. Caprock Canyons State Park and Trailway also host the Texas State Bison Herd Music Festival each September in downtown Quitaque.
