Cooper Lake State Park

Cooper Lake State Park located 90 minutes northeast of Dallas features shores of Jim Chapman Lake, formerly known as Cooper Lake. The state park includes two separate units; Doctors Creek located on the north side of the lake and South Sulphur located on the south side of the lake. Both units offer land and water recreational activities. The lake offers swimming, boating, paddle, and fishing opportunities. Visitors can bring own boat or kayak, or rent at park store. Other things to do include hike, bike, camp, ride horse, nature study, stargaze, and picnicking.
