Goose Island State Park is located north of Corpus Christi on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The park surrounded by both St. Charles and Aransas Bays offers fishing from 1,620-foot long fishing pier, camping, and bird watching opportunities. The state park is home to 1000 years old "The Big Tree", the largest live oak trees in Texas and in the nation. Although located on the seashore, swimming is not recommended as the shoreline has concrete bulkheads, oyster shells, mud flats and marsh grass. Goose Island State Park offers 44 campsites by the bay and 57 sites nestled under oak trees.
