Sugarloaf ski resort is a popular tourist attraction located on Sugarloaf Mountain. Sugarloaf offers winter and summer mountain activities. At 4,237 feet, Sugarloaf is the second tallest mountain in the state of Maine. Winter activities include snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, and snow-go ski bikes. Summer activities include golf, hiking, mountain biking, and ziplines.
#10 Rockland
Rockland is a popular tourist destination known for the Maine State Ferry Service to the islands of Penobscot Bay: Vinalhaven, North Haven and Matinicus. Rockland also is home to many top attractions including Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Farnsworth Art Museum, and Maine Lighthouse Museum. The city is also popular for the annual Maine Lobster Festival held in first week of August.
