Mississippi Civil Rights Museum document and exhibit the history of American Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi between 1945 and 1970. The museum features eight galleries, each dedicated to a single theme. The galleries encircle a central space called This Little Light of Mine. The galleries are: Gallery 1 "Mississippi Freedom Struggle", Gallery 2 "Mississippi in Black and White", Gallery 3 "This Little Light of Mine", Gallery 4 "A Closed Society", Gallery 5 "A Tremor in the Iceberg", Gallery 6 "I Question America", Gallery 7 "Black Empowerment", and Gallery 8 "Where Do We Go From Here?".
