Located within LeFleur's Bluff State Park, Mississippi Museum of Natural Science is the largest museum in the state of Mississippi. The museum features glass overlook, open-air amphitheater, and 2.5 miles of nature trails. Museum exhibits include over 200 living species in our 100,000 gallon aquarium. Permanent and temporary exhibits include deer, waterfowl, fossils, and Mississippi's endangered species. The museum also hosts numerous fun activities and annual events.
Mississippi Civil Rights Museum document and exhibit the history of American Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi between 1945 and 1970. The museum features eight galleries, each dedicated to a single theme. The galleries encircle a central space called This Little Light of Mine. The galleries are: Gallery 1 "Mississippi Freedom Struggle", Gallery 2 "Mississippi in Black and White", Gallery 3 "This Little Light of Mine", Gallery 4 "A Closed Society", Gallery 5 "A Tremor in the Iceberg", Gallery 6 "I Question America", Gallery 7 "Black Empowerment", and Gallery 8 "Where Do We Go From Here?".
LeFleur's Bluff State Park located on the banks of the Pearl River is popular for recreation area. The 305-acre park features 50-acre Mayes Lake, 9-hole golf course, and the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science. Popular recreation activities include hiking, camping, picnicking, boating and fishing.
Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum preserves Mississippi's rich agricultural history through the exhibits and artifacts on display. The museum features permanent exhibits, a living history farm, an entire crossroads town, and a forest study area. All Museum exhibits are self guided and offers unique learning environment.
Mississippi Children's Museum (MCM) features hands-on interactive exhibits and programs focusing on literacy, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math), and health and nutrition. Museum galleries are: Wild about reading, Healthy fun, Pollinator's playground, The literacy garden, Express yourself, Exploring Mississippi, and World at work.
