Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is dedicated to life of United States President John F. Kennedy. Located in downtown on the the sixth floor of the Dallas County Administration Building the museum exhibits explore the life, assassination and legacy of JFK within the context of 1960s history and culture. The main exhibit on the sixth floor features historic films, photographs, artifacts, and interpretive displays. The seventh floor features special exhibits and public programs.
Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is one of the most visited arboretum located on the shores of White Rock Lake. The 66-acre arboretum features 19 named gardens and several fountains. It is popular place to visit with spectacular view of the White Rock Lake and the downtown Dallas skyline. The Dallas Arboretum also offers annual events, educational programs, and family activities. Perot Museum of Nature and Science is a natural history and science museum. The museum is located in two campuses at Victory Park and Fair Park. Located in downtown, Dallas World Aquarium is a popular aquarium and zoo. The upper level of the aquarium features Orinoco rainforest. The lower level of the aquarium houses aquarium featuring sea animals from around the world. There are tanks featuring aquatic life of Japan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, British Columbia, the Bahamas, Fiji, Palau, Southern Australia, Lord Howe Island, and the Solomon Islands. It also includes a large 40 foot tunnel tank with view of fish swimming around.
Nasher Sculpture Center is located in the heart of the Dallas Arts District adjacent to the Dallas Museum of Art in the Dallas Arts District. The center is home to the finest collections of modern and contemporary sculptures. The Nasher Sculpture Center features rotating exhibitions of works from the Nasher family collection as well as special exhibitions in its indoor and outdoor galleries.
Located 3 miles south of downtown, Dallas Zoo is the oldest and largest zoo of Texas. The 106 acre zoo is home to over 2,000 animals representing over 400 species. The zoo is open 364 days a year except December 25. The sculpture represent 19th century cattle drive along the Shawnee Trail featuring 3 cowboys and a herd of 40 longhorn steer. The bronze art was created by artist Robert Summers of Glen Rose, Texas. It is one of the largest bronze monument in the world. Other attraction of Pioneer Plaza include m include a waterfall, man-made cliffs, and native plant life.
Located in Downtown, Klyde Warren Park is a 5.2-acre popular public park. The park serves as a central gathering space and hosts many free activities throughout year. Park offers free fitness classes each week including oot camps, yoga, tai chi, Zumba, and ballroom dancing.
