Birmingham Zoo

The 122-acre Birmingham Zoo features animals from all over the world. The zoo has about 550 animals of 180 species including sea lions, elephants, bears, flamingos, and endangered species from six continents. The zoo exhibits include American Alligators, African Lions, Sea Lions, Children's Zoo, and Trails of Africa. Other attractions include carousel, train, Lorikeet Feeding, Flamingo Feeding, and Sea Lion Show.

Montgomery Zoo

The 40 acres zoo is home to over 500 animals representing 140 species. The zoo exhibits include animals from five different continents: Africa, Australia, Asia, North America, and South America. The Reptile House is located in the Zoo's South American section is home to world's most exotic snakes and reptiles. The Mann Wildlife Learning Museum opened in 2003 features over 275 exhibits of wildlife including various fresh and saltwater fish, reptiles and insects. Other attractions include Koi Fish Feeding Station, Waters of the World, Giraffe Encounter, Parakeet Cove, and Petting Zoo.

Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo

The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo located in the coastal town of Gulf Shores is home to more than 300 animals. The 25 acres zoo features over 199 species and 22 endangered species. Known for its beautiful white-sand beaches, Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is one of the popular family attractions in the region. Zoo exhibits and attractions include reptile house, petting zoo, animal encounter, primates, and educational stage shows. Zoo animals include American alligator, lions, leopards, tigers, wolves, bears, monkeys, and macaws.

Harmony Park Safari

Harmony Park preserve free-ranging exotic and endangered animals. Visitors can remain in their vehicle on 2-mile route to see zebras, zebus, antelope, buffalo, a camel, ostriches, giraffes, a kangaroo and tortoises. The park also features a reptile house.

Alabama Safari Park

The 350 acres Alabama Safari Park features Safari Drive-Thru to view animals from the comfort of your own vehicle. Visitors can drive vehicle over 3 miles of maintained gravel road and feed the animals through windows. Park animals include Lemur, Llama, Giraffe, Watusi, Zebra, Kangaroo, and many more. Giraffe feeding is the main attraction of the park. Visitors can feed giraffes from giraffe tower that allows to eye level with giraffe and feed Romaine lettuce available at the gift shop out of their hands.
