Phoenix Zoo located in the Papago Park is home to over 3,000 animals of 400 species. The 125 acres zoo features four themed areas: Arizona Trail, Africa Trail, Tropics Trail, and Children's Trail. The Africa Trail features African painted dog, hamadryas baboon, mandrill, ostrich, gazelle, Southern white rhino, zebras, lions, cheetahs and giraffes. The Arizona Trail features native plants of Sonoran Desert. Other attractions of the zoo include stingray bay, carousel, safari trail camel rides, giraffe encounter, and zoolights.

Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum

The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum includes zoo, botanical garden, art gallery, natural history museum, and aquarium. The 98 acre desert is home to over 2,000 species of plants. It showcase vibrant ecosystem and represent variety of biotic communities found within the Sonoran Desert region. Desert Loop Trail is an unpaved one half mile long trail where you can see coyotes, javelinas, lizards, blue palo verde, and saguaro cactus.

Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park

Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park is home to more than 6,000 animals including over 600 exotic and endangered species. The zoo exhibits include Small Mammals, Tropics of the World Reptiles, Kangaroo, White Rhinoceros, Big Cats, and Kids' Petting Zoo. The zoo animals include alligators, monkeys, cheetahs, jaguars, leopards, lions, tigers, white tigers, servals and ocelots. The facility also features 4-story aquarium with exhibits of sea lions, fish, amphibians, invertebrates, and reptiles. The 15-acre Safari Park includes African lion habitat and a variety of African birds. Other attractions include educational animal shows, giraffe feeding station, stingray feeding, lory parrot feeding, penguin feeding, and wildlife encounters.

Reid Park Zoo

The 24 acres Reid Park Zoo is home to more than 500 animals in naturalistic exhibits. The zoo exhibits include Adaptation Zone, South America zone, Asian zone, and African Animals zone. The zoo animals include African Wild Dogs, American Alligator, Squirrel Monkey, Meerkat, African Elephant, Grizzly Bear, Lemur, Anteater, African Lion, Zebra, Giraffe, Andean Bear. Black and white ruffed lemur, Jaguar, Capybara, Flamingo, Gibbon, Ostrich, Otter, Rhino, and more.

Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary

The 10 acres Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary is home to over 175 native and exotic animals. The park features interactive animal exhibits, covered picnic pavilion, and children's playground. The zoo exhibits include large mammals, small mammals, hoofstock, birds, reptiles, and invertebrates. The zoo animals include mountain lion, black bear, wolf, lynx, leopard, coyote, macaw, emu, eagle and more. It also offers party packages to celebrate birthday party and host private events.
