Located 3 miles south of downtown, Dallas Zoo is the oldest and largest zoo of Texas. The 106 acre zoo is home to over 2,000 animals representing over 400 species. The zoo is open 364 days a year except December 25. The zoo exhibits include Tiger Habitat, Children's Zoo, BUG U!, Wilds of Africa, Penguin Cove, Chimpanzee Forest, Gorilla Research Center, Crocodile Isle, Forest Aviary, Wilds of Africa Adventure Safari, and Giants of the Savanna. Dallas Zoo attractions include T-Rex Express Mini-Train and Endangered Species Carousel.
